Gluten-Free Dream: Brunch Buffet at The Wynn, Las Vegas

Gluten-Free Dream: Brunch Buffet at The Wynn, Las Vegas

The Wynn Buffet is rated as one of the top buffets to visit in Las Vegas. So, as buffet lovers, we had to give it a go. However, when you are gluten-free, the experience is often limited. But for the GF (celiac or by choice) people out there, this is one buffet I can recommend going to, having personally tried many of the options.

How much is the buffet?

It’s not cheap… The brunch buffet is currently $59.99 per person (remember to add tax, tips, etc.). But, if you can eat a lot, it’s worth it!

Do you need to book?

We booked online but then walked straight in on a weekday at 9:30 a.m.; there was no line at all. It apparently can get extremely busy, though, so we would recommend reserving a spot.

Is it really gluten-free?

YES. They take it seriously and will prepare food in a different area if necessary. For example, the French toast I ordered was prepared gluten-free, and they asked me if they could cook it on the same surface as the other French toast. Because I’m not coeliac, this was fine for me, but if I was, they would have cooked it in the kitchen out the back in a separate area.

Ask for the gluten-free tour

This is something I hadn’t experienced before, and it honestly made me feel like a VIP! If you have allergies, you can ask the head chef for a tour of the buffet. Chef Craig came out from the kitchen to give me a personalised buffet tour.

He pointed out everything that was already gluten-free, foods that were not available as gluten-free, and the foods they were happy to prepare gluten-free. I was quite surprised at how genuinely nice he was; I thought it would be annoying for him to have to do this. The level of service was over and above what I was expecting.

What did I eat?

Well, as per usual, I adopted my special buffet powers, and I sure needed them that day. The food that can be made gluten-free is made specifically for you, and it comes in full size, rather than you taking a small portion from the buffet. I ate a whole omelette, half of a truffle mushroom pizza (recommended by Chef Craig, and it was A-MAZ-ING), a few gluten-free desserts, French toast, a crepe, fruit, and ice cream. I’m unsure how I did it, but I did not need to eat until dinner!

What if you’re not gluten-free?

If you’re not gluten-free, you will have an excellent time here. It is definitely one of the best buffets we’ve been to. There is such a variety of food, and there are many chefs cooking for you as well (16 live chef stations!).

Would we go again?
Yes! As previously mentioned, it is difficult to find a buffet with so many gluten-free items, especially delicious ones. There is also a dinner buffet offered at The Wynn, and it would be fun to try that as well.

Overall, we thought it was worth the money. If you have a couple of hours free for brunch one day in Vegas and are not too budget-conscious, go for it. If you are gluten-free, enjoy making the most of a buffet – yay!
